Hi everybody. I am Jay Chhablani, MD. I am the vice chair of clinical trials at UPMC Vision Institute.
I am here at ASRS 2026 Montreal, where I presented the data on OCU410 (Ocugen) for geographic atrophy (GA) as well as for Stargardt disease. I presented the anatomical outcomes using fundus autofluorescence and spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT), specifically ellipsoid zone (EZ). What we reported for the GA trial of OCU410 is that it showed almost 23% slower progression of the GA in terms of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) atrophy on OCT. However, the more interesting part was the slowing of EZ loss, which was almost 41% in treated eyes.
Talking about Stargardt, there was a significant benefit on autofluorescence in reducing the progression of the disease. We also see a significant benefit in the EZ. But more importantly, there were no side effects. There were no serious adverse events reported in this trial.
We are very excited to look for more data and looking forward for the approval in coming years. Thank you so much. RP
