Hello, I’m Eric Schlumpf, president and CEO of Stuart Therapeutics. We’re attending the OIS Retina conference in Montreal, Canada, and we’re here to discuss a new inherited retinal disease program based on the polypharmacologic synthetic collagen mimetic peptide platform to which Stuart owns the rights.
Our program is designed as a topical therapy for retinitis pigmentosa, offering the potential to treat patients—including younger individuals—with an excellent safety profile. It is intended to provide a neuroprotective effect, reduce inflammation, and improve the overall health of the posterior retina.
We’re excited to be here today to share new data from our preclinical studies in nonhuman primates demonstrating topical drop penetration throughout the posterior retina, including the critical retinal extracellular matrix (ECM) region between the retinal pigment epithelium and the photoreceptors.
It’s a pleasure to be here with the team at OIS, and we thank them for the opportunity to present today. RP
