Hello, I’m Timothy G. Murray, MD, MBA, FASRS, here at ASRS 2026 Montreal, speaking to you about updates on the Best of JVRD, the Journal of VitreoRetinal Diseases (JVRD), for which I have the honor of being the editor-in-chief.

The journal is a very unique focus for ASRS and has had some significant advances in the last year. The impact factor for our journal has increased. We have online submission that generates a searchable PubMed-relatable immediate opportunity to obtain the manuscript and its title. We are very excited with our editorial board commitment and we are for this year—10 years into the history of JVRD—transitioning to a new self-publishing model.

The Best of JVRD is highlighted at the meeting every year. We look at the most downloaded article, the most cited article, and the most viewed article. Those 3 articles (Figure 1) all focused on advances in age-related macular degeneration care, including evaluations of anti-VEGF therapy, use of the complement inhibitors, and comparison of potential complication rates.

The journal’s subscription rates have been stable for our members and it’s included across all of ASRS’s membership. We’re excited for our partners and we’re looking forward to a wonderful new year publishing internally for the first time. Thanks for joining us at JVRD, ASRS Montreal. RP
