Behind the Scenes of Trials InSight

Drs. Minaker and Sambhara discuss the motivation behind their upcoming virtual meeting and its emphasis on collaboration across clinical research.

Samuel Minaker, MD, MSc, and Deepak Sambhara, MD, FASRS, discuss Trials InSight, a virtual meeting scheduled for February 27, 2027, that will bring together investigators, research coordinators, sponsors, and other clinical trial stakeholders.

Dr. Minaker: We’re here live from the AAO Expo floor. And today is the day after our after-hours nightcap event. We were blown away by the support for the Trials InSight meeting. This is a meeting where we really want to bring together everyone that’s involved in clinical trials. Deepak and I are really motivated and got involved in clinical trials for the opportunity to bring new therapies to our patients. And people have been asking us, how are we able to accomplish so much in a short period of time? Really, it’s about a team and a great group of people that we work with to accomplish a much larger goal.

We wanted to work together to be able to bring all of the people—whether it’s our coordinators, the sponsors, the contract research organizations (CROs), and investigators—to get better together, and for people that want to learn the tricks of the trade to be able to come and attend a meeting where they can learn those best practices and share them.

Dr. Sambhara: Couldn’t have said it better myself, Sam. Last night was amazing. We had a great turnout. Harrow sponsored our event, and we had all stakeholders—pharma, biotech, research coordinators, and investigators—under one roof. We seek to do the same thing at Trials InSight. For all the reasons that Sam said, we are trying to elevate the way data are generated, best practices are performed, and, ultimately, the way we deliver patient care. Dr. Minaker: Right now, registration is live. There’s even early bird registration if you register before the end of November. And we’re really excited to see everyone there. The response has been absolutely astounding, and we can’t wait to see what happens when we get all these amazing people together and learn from each other to bring new therapies to our patients. RP
